Today the Supreme Court issued two historic rulings related to marriage. The first was on the Defense of Marriage Act, which the Supreme Court has deemed unconstitutional based on the concept of equal protection under the law. Therefore the federal government must provide homosexual couples the same benefits afforded to heterosexual couples, so long as the homosexual couple has been married in a state where gay marriage is legal. It does not, however, legalize gay marriage nationwide. Whether or not you agree with gay marriage is a different issue entirely. What we have here is the federal government recognizing the need to treat every American equally under federal law...( more) Obama's Popularity Fades Barack Obama has enjoyed perhaps the longest honeymoon in presidential history, but I think it's safe to say that it is now over. Obama's second term has sent his popularity and his policy agenda into a tailspin that even I didn't see coming. A new Fox News poll finds that for the first time ever, more than half of voters find Obama unlikeable. His personal popularity is down to 47%, while 51% have a negative opinion of Obama. That's really important because for the longest time - despite his failure to re-start our economy or lead on issues that Americans really care about - Obama's popularity has remained virtually untarnished. That is now starting to change, and it will impede his ability to implement his policies throughout the rest of his term. He's shown himself to be an inadequate leader, but at least he was popular enough to be persuasive. He's losing that very quickly, even if he tries to deny it...( more) |
Outrageous! War On Coal While the rest of America is still worried about finding a job, paying for their kids to go to college, making ends meet to pay all the bills every month, Barack Obama is worried about... climate change. Not only is he worried about climate change, but he is so insistent on passing his climate agenda that the effect on your pocketbook apparently means nothing. Obama's climate speech this week outlined his vision for reducing carbon emissions by imposing new regulations on the coal industry. He wants to do this by - and this shouldn't shock you - executive order. In other words, we would have nameless bureaucrats, not held accountable to the public, writing policy that will effect millions of American jobs and budgets. I am shocked, quite frankly, of the blatant honesty that came from Daniel Schrag, a member of the President's Council of Advisers on Science and Technology...( more) Today's "Hot Topic" On The Hannity Forums: OK, I Agree Obama is NOT on Vacation in Africa - avergbear Recent allegations assert that Obama's extended official trip to Africa was in fact a vacation in disguise as the taxpayers fork-over upwards of $100 Million Dollars to cover expenses. However, it was announced today that accompanying the President on Air Force One is his wife, two daughters, a niece, and his Mother-in-Law. No trip with your Mother-in-Law could be considered a vacation, no matter how much the taxpayers spent on luxuries and extravagant entertainment. He recently claimed that one of the targets included the then senate candidate Obama. >> TV Tonight (Hannity FoxNews at 9pm ET): While the immigration reform appears to have enough support, the bill still has a tough road ahead. Rep. Paul Ryan reacts. Plus why are liberals up in arms about the Voting Rights Act? Michelle Malkin responds. And daredevil Nik Wallenda joins Sean tonight. |
