2012 winner Marie Wicks of Ocean Springs crowns Fulton native
Miss Amory Railroad Festival Chelsea Rick of Fulton was
crowned Miss Mississippi on Saturday during the 2013 pageant in
Vicksburg.
The William CareyUniversity College
of Osteopathic Medicine student bested 34 other young women for the
title, including Miss Delta Blues Jennifer Seymour of D'Iberville and
Miss Riverbend Michaela Moore of Biloxi.
First runner-up was Miss University of Southern Miss Hannah Roberts, second runner-up was Miss West Central Mississippi Laura Lee Lewis, third runner-up was Miss Leaf River Valley Jordin Johnson and fourth runner-up Miss University Caroline Conerly.
The pageant was televised live from the Vicksburg Convention Center.
Rick also won the talent preliminary Friday night and the swimwear title on Thursday.
She performed "Can't Help Lovin' That Man" from the Broadway musical "Showboat."
She has been competing in the pageant each year since 2009.
Lewis, a pageant newcomer, won the swimsuit preliminary and a $400 scholarship Friday night.
