"It felt like I knew you": An innovative art project

Since early 2012, performance artist and sculptor George Ferrandi has been developing a project called, "it felt like i knew you..." She rides the NYC subway trains, attempting to mentally and emotionally "re-sculpt" the space between her and the passenger next to her. She is hoping to transform that space from the stiff and guarded barrier between strangers to the soft and yielding space between friends. When she believes that space has shifted, and she completely feels like the stranger sitting next to her is her friend, she rests her head on that person's shoulder and sees what happens.
