Vinayak Shanbhag, 33, was arrested and charged Saturday with attempted first-degree murder after officers responded to a Unabelle Avenue home to “assist for a medical call,” the report by Holly Hill Officer Lauren Duncan states. Vinayak Shanbhag, 33, is charged with attempted first degree murder after his 66-year-old father was found bludgeoned while sleeping in the family's Holly Hill home early Sunday morning, according to an arrest report.

HE MUGGED THE WRONG MAN: Robbery suspect arrested after victim chases him through subway tunnel

A career criminal robbed a man in Greenwich Village, near the subway station at Sixth Ave. and W. 4th St., cops say. A dramatic chase ensued in which the victim chased the suspect through a subway tunnel and then flagged down a cop who made the arrest. A mugging suspect thought he could lose the victim who was chasing after him by fleeing into a subway station and running along the tracks into the tunnel. He was wrong.

Fla. artist smashes vase worth $1 million at Miami museum

A South Florida artist is facing a criminal charge after police say he smashed a $1 million vase at Miami’s new art museum to protest what he called its favoritism for international rather than local art. Maximo Caminero, 51, was charged with criminal mischief after Sunday’s incident at the Perez Art Museum Miami.

The body of 20-year-old Chicago University student Nicholas Barnes was found Saturday. The last time he used his keycard to enter his dorm was on February 7. Nicholas Barnes, a 20-year-old junior, was found face down in his room on Saturday. It was possible he'd been there for more than a week, investigators said.
