'Endless Loop' of Obama Scandals
At a high-priced fundraising dinner last night, Barack Obama
lambasted the Republicans for being on an "endless loop" of scandal
outrage. He says, "It's not serious. It's not speaking to the real
concerns that people have." Adding the latest VA scandal into the mix,
the growing list of Obama administration scandals has many Americans
concerned, and for good reason.
One reason many Americans are concerned is because the president and his
administration have perfected the art of lying to the American people.
The Washington Times broke the news that the incoming Obama
administration was warned about problems with the VA when transitioning
into office. Yet Jay Carney told reporters yesterday that the president
and VA Secretary Shinseki first learned about this outrageous activity
in the news reports, just as the American people learned about them.
Doesn't that sound familiar? That was the same line used in the IRS
scandal, the DOJ spying on AP reporters and other scandals that have
plagued this administration. It's become a pattern. In this case, we
know that the administration was briefed on this issue in 2008, so
there's absolutely no excuse.
Is Obama a Man of His Word?
Is Barack Obama a man of his word? Many of these scandals have us questioning that.
The latest example is over his promise to take a pay cut.
As federal employees were furloughed as a result of the sequester,
Barack Obama promised to take a 5% pay cut in solidarity.
Or as the White House said at the time, "The president has decided that
to share in the sacrifice being made by public servants across the
federal government that are affected by the sequester, he will
contribute a portion of his salary back to the Treasury."
The only problem is that his latest tax returns do not reflect any such pay cut. And the White House refuses to confirm the cut.
So it was all likely just for show.
