Hillary's Terrible Rollout
She's had seven years to prepare for this. You'd think that Hillary
Clinton's campaign rollout would be far more successful than the bungled
mess we've witness over the last week. Could you have a worse rollout
if you are running for president?
The only people who seem
impressed are the gaggle of reporters following her around like a swarm.
In some events on Hillary's trip to Iowa, there were more reporters
than there were people. And then apparently we now have to wonder with
Clinton whether or not the “everyday Americans” she's meeting are even
that, after it was discovered that Democratic operatives were billed as
everyday Americans in her launch video.
Here are some of the latest stories about Hillary during her first week on the campaign trail.
It turns out that Hillary has been
fudging her family history. Buzzfeed News has the details: “Speaking in
Iowa Wednesday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that all
her grandparents had immigrated to the United States, a story that
conflicts with public census and other records related to her maternal
and paternal grandparents … 'As has been correctly pointed out, while
her grandfather was an immigrant, it appears that Hillary’s grandmother
was born shortly after her parents and siblings arrived in the U.S. in
the early 1880s.'”
I've already told you about Hillary's widely-covered trip to
Chipotle where she didn't bother to speak to anyone. So much for being a
woman of the people! But now it has been revealed that Hillary didn't
bother leaving a tip at the Chipotle. Doesn't she care about the
livelihoods of these everyday people she claims to champion?
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the Clinton Foundation has
decided to continue to accept donations from foreign countries, even
though Hillary is running for president. Isn't that convenient? While
the foundation is putting new policies in place, the bottom line is that
foreign governments will still be able to exert influence.
An interesting MSNBC poll finds that 86% of respondents would not
vote for Hillary Clinton in the upcoming election. I find that hard to
believe. Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS finds Clinton losing to a generic
Republican in the current polls, though not by much. A vast majority of
voters (71%) feel as though Hillary would simply be an extension of
Obama's policies. According to Rove, “These voters already know and have
essentially rejected Mrs. Clinton. Most undecided voters appear
inclined to reject her as well. But they all want to know the vision and
ideas of the Republican candidates, delivered with passion, sincerity
and authenticity.”
If this represents a taste of what we can expect from Hillary's
campaign for the next 18 months, then it is going to be a long road for
her. This is just her on the campaign trail; wait until she has to start
answering for her scandal-ridden past. That is, of course, if the media
even bothers to ask her about it. |

Did You File Your Taxes?
Did you file your taxes on-time? Generally liberals like to use this
opportunity to opine about the rich not paying their fair share in
taxes.
But the United States actually has one of the most progressive tax codes!
The top 1% of earners pay nearly 35% of all federal income taxes.
The top 10% of earners pay nearly 70% of all federal income taxes.
Meanwhile, the bottom 50% of earners pay just 3% of all federal income taxes.
Yet liberals still complain that the rich don't pay their fair share. Unbelievable. |
