Iran Can't Be Trusted
Since the Obama administration announced a framework deal for Iran's
nuclear program, more newsworthy events have occurred that make us doubt
Iran's trustworthiness more than ever.
The framework for a
deal with Iran over its nuclear program was announced on March 31st. The
framework itself has been publicly criticized by Iran itself. It was
just days ago when Ayatollah Khamenei said that the United States was
being “deceptive” and has “Devilish intentions” regarding the nuclear
negotiations. Then he went on to accuse the United States of lying about
the agreed upon framework.
This week, Iran released its version of a “fact sheet,” which
differs greatly from the one released by the United States. According
The Jersusalem Post, “Besides differences in number of centrifuges that
can operate and length of the deal, Iran's fact sheet also claims that
there must be an immediate end to all US, EU sanctions and UNSC
resolutions.”
It's hard to believe that there was any real
agreement when the two countries are publishing such widely different
accounts. But in this case, believing Iran is almost impossible.
Don't forget that it was discovered during negotiations that Iran
has an illicit nuclear facility that it conveniently failed to disclose.
What's even more amazing is that John Kerry admitted that the U.S. knew
about the secret facility, yet continued to believe that Iran was a
faithful negotiating partner!
The latest news to reveal itself
is the following, as reported by the Washington Free Beacon: “North
Korea supplied several shipments of missile components to Iran during
recent nuclear talks and the transfers appear to violate United Nations
sanctions on both countries, according to U.S. intelligence officials.”
Seriously? You can't make this stuff up. Yet STILL, the United States is willing to push forward with a deal.
And I haven't even reminded you of Iran's comments about the
destruction of Israel being non-negotiable, the recent chanting of
“death to America,” Iranian officials screaming at John Kerry, etc.
What is it going to take? Apparently there is nothing that can break
Obama's ideological obsession with making this deal with Iran. Compare
that to Obama's ideological obsession with hating Israeli Prime Minister
Netanyahu.
Associated Press reporter Jim Kuhnhenn cornered the White House on
this issue in yesterday's press briefing. You can read/watch the entire
exchange here, but Kuhnhenn's question to the White House was
essentially why they were willing to give Khomeini the benefit of the
doubt while seemingly unwilling to give Netanyahu the same.
WH Press Secretary Josh Earnest's response was that Iran does not
get the benefit of the doubt. He went on to say “that these negotiations
with the Iranians are not built on trust." When the what the heck ARE
these negotiations built upon, and why does the White House believe they
will be successful if they can't trust their negotiating partner?
And on top of all of that, this week the Russians announced that
they are selling Iran a sophisticated surface-to-air missile system.
Putin tried to claim that the missiles do not pose a threat to Israel.
“It is a solely defensive weapon.” What as the United States' reaction
been? John Kerry apparently told the Russian foreign minister in a phone
conversation that he didn't think the sale should go forward. Ouch,
that should really scare the Russians into submission.
As Bill Kristol writes in the Weekly Standard, “The S-300 sale is a
fire bell in the night, signaling what a post-Iran deal Middle East
would look like. However dangerous that region already is, it will be
far more dangerous after Iran has pocketed all the concessions on offer,
and everyone has seen the West sign on the dotted line of retreat.”
He's absolutely right. Thank you Obama Neville Chamberlain for putting
America, Israel and the world on a path that is less safe and secure. |

Hillary on Religious Freedom Debate
Hillary Clinton has decided to weigh in on the religious freedom debate.
She urged the Governor of Arkansas to veto its version of the Religious Freedom Restoration
Act because it "would permit unfair discrimination" against gay Americans.
Just like in Indiana and dozens of states throughout the country, Arkansas' bill is based off of
the federal act, which was signed into law by her own husband Bill Clinton!
I wonder if anyone in the liberal mainstream media will bother asking
Hillary if Bill's federal religious freedom act was also discriminatory
against gays.
I'm not holding my breath.
