A Clinton Re-do?
This weekend, Hillary Clinton will give her first official campaign
announcement speech. What has she been doing for the last two months?
Avoiding, dodging and evading questions about the myriad of scandals in
which she is involved.
It's hard to imagine a more disastrous
campaign rollout for a candidate who has, in one way or another, been
running for president for a number of years. From her private email and
server to her odd appearance at Chipotle on the campaign trail, Hillary
has managed to skip from one poor headline to the next.
It's finally taking its toll.
I've told you about her latest poll numbers which show that she is
rapidly losing favorability with voters. She is not trusted and she
lacks charisma to motivate people to go to the polls.
Meanwhile, other Democrats are slowing surging in the polls. Republican
candidates are also within reach or outright beating her in certain
polls on different factors.
And it looks like not much will
change over the next few months. Things just keep getting worse. Here
are a few of the latest examples.
From the Washington Free Beacon: “Multiple high-dollar donors to
the Clinton Foundation are associated with the New York Times, including
the Times’ top shareholder, Carlos Slim … Not only has Slim contributed
between $1,000,001 and $5,000,000 to the Clinton Foundation, but his
company Telmex has contributed an additional grant between $1,000,001
and $5,000,000 through its foundation. Slim has also pledged $100
million to the Clinton Giustra Sustainable Growth Initiative, a
collaboration between the Clinton Foundation and Canadian mining tycoon
Frank Guistra.”
One of the many controversies swirling around Clinton and the New
York Times this week is whether or not the paper was essentially paid
off for its endorsement of Hillary Clinton in 2008 over Barack Obama and
John Edwards. The timing of things is in dispute, but stories like this
show the fluid relationship between media and the Clintons.
From the Daily Caller: “Democratic presidential candidate Hillary
Clinton’s 'No Ceilings' women’s empowerment project at the Clinton
Foundation accepted a $5 million commitment last December from a Swiss
billionaire even as his lawyers were fighting in federal court to hide
his darkest secret — a long record of sexually abusing women.”
It's hard to paint oneself as a women's rights advocate when stories
like this continue to make headlines. Also, consider all of the
countries from which the Clinton Foundation has accepted money, which
have deplorable women's rights records.
From the Washington Examiner: “State Department Inspector General
officials edited out passages of a high-profile report in 2013 that
could have embarrassed Hillary Clinton just days before she quit
President Obama's Cabinet. The officials excised details of a cover up
of misconduct by Clinton's security team. The edits raise concerns that
investigators were subjected to 'undue influence' from agency
officials.”
Hillary isn't exactly polling well on “trust,” and
stories such as this fit the pattern of somebody constantly in cover-up
mode. |

Number of Government Regulations Under Obama Has Exploded
The number of government regulations has exploded under the Obama administration.
The Environmental Protection Agency alone has issued 3,373 new regulations since Obama took office in January 2009.
This equals 29,770 pages in the Federal Register and close to 30 million words.
According to CNS News, “This means the new EPA regulations issued by
the Obama Administration contain 23 times as many pages as the Bible and
46 times as many words.”
Or by another comparison, 6,552 times as many words as the Constitution.
It's no wonder that businesses are having a difficult time keeping
track and paying to comply with the outrageous number of government
regulations.
