An NYPD lieutenant died of a 9/11-related illness Thursday, November 5, 2015. Marci Simms (pictured) died at her Long Island home, 16 months after she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. The Brooklyn-born officer contracted the disease after working at Ground Zero for more than four months, her family said. An NYPD lieutenant — described by family members as a “tough cookie” with “a heart of gold” — has died of a 9/11-related illness.

Louisiana police arrest 2 officers in 6-year-old boy's shooting death

Chris Few and his son as Jeremy Mardis, a first-grader at a nearby elementary school were shot about 9:30 p.m. Chris Few is in critical condition and Jeremy was killed. The two officers are being booked on charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
