Charles Gelzer, suspected of pulling armed robberies in Brooklyn and Queens wearing a Trinidad and Tobago flag covering his face, was carrying the red, black, and white mask in his pocket when he was busted by cops. Gelzer's crime wave began to unravel on Sept. 25 when he allegedly carried out a stickup at the Flushing Ave. Deli in Ridgewood, Queens. During the crime his mask slipped off and his face was captured on surveillance video which the NYPD distributed to the media. That didn't stop Gelzer from allegedly committing an Oct. 12 heist at M & M Bagels in Staten Island wearing the Caribbean country's flag to cover his face. But Gelzer's fate was really sealed by a street robbery he committed last July in which he wasn't wearing a mask at all. The victims identified him from an array of mug shots and when cops caught up to him on Nov. 17 he was helpfully carrying the Trinidadian flag mask in his pocket A Brooklyn bandit deserves a salute for stupidity.

Detroit police are asking for the public's help identifying and locating a suspect after 91-year-old Paul Monchnik was found dead in a suspicious fire. A 91-year-old man was beaten, covered with gasoline and set on fire in a homicide in northwest Detroit early Monday, police said.

Men save baby from burning car along Florida highway seconds before vehicle explodes

Steven Hill and John Nelson were able to rescue a baby from a crashed car on Interstate 95 in Florida. The father of the baby, Daniel Dufek (pictured), 31, of Lake City, Florida died in the fatal accident. Two men stumbled upon a burning vehicle on the side of Interstate 95 Friday morning and managed to save a baby that was in the back seat moments before the car exploded.
