Accused East Harlem murderer who was on the run for three years busted after traffic stop

Edwin Burgos, 57, has been named as the suspect in a shooting homicide from over a year and half ago in East Harlem. On Sunday, June 2, 2013 at approximately 1324 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot in front of 435 E 105 St, within the confines of the 23 Precinct. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered the victim, a M/40's, with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Metropolitan Hospital where he was pronounced DOA. There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. The deceased has been identified as: A routine traffic stop Saturday landed cops an East Harlem man on the lam from a murder charge for more than three years.
