There are approximately 500 strip clubs in the US and an estimated of 300,000 women working in them. Not all of these women are available in the red light areas. A big group has a second job or, as they said, dance in the clubs just for fun. An average stripper starts her career when they are 24 years old and can work until the early forties. Origins are diverse: Filipino, Russian, Chinese, Puerto Ricans or Hawaiians, among many nationalities that can be found grabbing the pole on the stage of local cabaret. Shows last about five minutes. In three songs, the dance first appears wearing a bikini, then topless and finally naked. They can earn from 10 to 2000 USD in a good night, depending on the places where they work and the "extras" they can make. Some ladies study, take care of their families or go shopping with their boyfriends. The night is not the only time to work: they can choose between two shifts: from 11:30 am to 8pm pm or 7pm till 02am. In San Francisco, for example, there are 13 strip clubs and the entry fee is about 20 dollars.
