Chinese Fighter Jets 'Buzz' US Aircraft Near Korean Peninsula Two Chinese Fighter jets "buzzed" a US reconnaissance plane near the East China Sea over the weekend, nearly causing a mid-air collision in what American officials are calling a "hazardous" and "unsafe" intercept, reports Fox News. One of the Chinese fighter jets came within 300 feet of the American EP-3 surveillance plane, flying under the aircraft and forcing the US plane to "take evasive action to avoid collision," said a US official familiar with the incident.
