Debbie
Wasserman Schultz finally spoke out on the widening IT scandal
surrounding her former staffer Imran Awan, telling reporters earlier
this week she stands by her decision to keep the technician on her
payroll because she was afraid he was being "racially profiled."
The former Democratic National Committee Chair responded to her critics
during an interview with the Sun Sentinel, arguing she kept paying Awan
because she was afraid he was being targeted by federal prosecutors
because he was a Muslim. |

| UH OH: Congress May Release Secret 'Trump Dossier' Testimony |
The Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee says he plans to call a vote
on whether to publicly release the testimony of Fusion GPS co-founder
Glenn Simpson regarding the infamous 'Trump Dossier.'
Senator Chuck Grassley was responding to questions from his constituents
at a town hall event in Iowa when he was asked whether the public would
be able to see Simpson's testimony.
"The answer is, it will take a vote of the committee to do it, but I presume that they will be released," Grassley said.
The chair was then asked if he would vote to release the transcript. |

The Russian military sent a clear message to the United States, Japan,
and other allies in the region on Thursday, when it flew nuclear-capable
bombers and other spy planes near the Korean peninsula in protest of
American war games in South Korea.
According to Reuters, Russia conducted the unusual operation to coincide
with the massive war simulation currently under way. The games include
tens of thousands of troops and simulate an all-out war on the Korean
peninsula over the span of 10 days. |
