If anyone thinks McCain is going to make things right with Trump during his dying days, they would be wrong.
Even after the Trump dossier has been proven to be bogus, McCain stated he “would do it again” if given the opportunity.

Dying Sentiments

John McCain’s new book (The Restless Wave: Good Times, Just Causes, Great Fights, and Other Appreciations) is about to come out and he is doing everything he can to hype it.
This little feud he has created with Donald Trump seems to have become a part-time job for him.
One would think that after all the facts came out about the dossier being unfounded, McCain would recant, but it’s not happening.
Instead, McCain doubled down on turning over the information to the FBI and James Comey.
McCain claims that after receiving the documentation, he “did what duty demanded I do.”
He further endeared himself to Trump supporters (sarcasm intended) by saying, “I discharged that obligation, and I would do it again. Anyone who doesn’t like it can go to hell.”

Due Diligence

The scary thing about all of this is the lack of due diligence done by McCain before turning over the dossier.
Considering the explosive nature of the documentation, McCain should have investigated it somewhat on his own before turning it into a national headline.
Instead, though, he allowed his dislike of Trump to guide his conscience.
Had McCain fully investigated the dossier on his own, this witch hunt against Trump may have never taken place.
Amazingly, after Comey looked into it and publicly said the allegations made in the dossier were in fact unfounded, the FBI still used the document for FISA warrants.
