pour out upon America a Third Great Awakening. “If My people who are called by
My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their
wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and
will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Even with America at risk of imploding economically and
spiritually, a New York City elementary school principal doesn't even want
children singing about God blessing our country. "A controversial Coney Island
principal has pulled the plug on patriotism," reports the New York Post.
"Her refusal to let students sing 'God Bless the USA' at their graduation
has sparked fireworks at a school filled with proud immigrants. Greta
Hawkins, principal of PS 90, the Edna Cohen School, won’t
allow kindergartners to belt out the beloved Lee Greenwood ballad, also
known as 'Proud to be an American,' at their moving-up ceremony. Five classes
spent months learning the patriotic song, which skyrocketed in popularity
after the 9/11 attacks and the 2003 invasion of Iraq. It was to be the rousing
finale of their musical show at the June 20 commencement. The kids,
dressed up for their big day, would wave tiny American flags — which, as
the lyrics proclaim, 'still stand for freedom.' But Hawkins marched in on a
recent rehearsal and ordered a CD playing the anthem to be shut off,
staffers said. She told the teachers to drop the song from the program. 'We
don’t want to offend other cultures,' they quoted her as explaining." Lee Greenwood told the Los
Angeles Times: "I wrote 'God Bless the USA'
about the love I have for this country and the struggle we have gone through to
remain free. Our country was founded on the principle that it welcomes people
of all cultures and gives them the same rights we have as citizens. However, I
feel compelled to echo the faith of our forefathers, who all believed in God
and a respect of a higher authority. Personally, denying the children of PS 90
to sing 'God Bless the USA' offends me as a Christian. My song is about hope,
faith, spirit and pride. How could that be wrong on any level?"
Actually, we need not to simply sing about God blessing the USA.
We urgently need to pray, fast and plead with Jesus Christ to unleash a
spiritual revival so sweeping it would become known as a Third Great Awakening.
The Bible verse on my heart in this regard these days is from 2 Chronicles
7:14, "If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray
and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven,
will forgive their sin and will heal their land." This is what Implosion is all about. That
we're in very serious trouble as a country, and our only hope is the
transforming power of Jesus Christ. This is what we'll be discussing during the Implosion Simulcast on

Will Syria implode in a bloody civil war even worse than the
horrific violence already underway? That’s the big question right now.
Weapons are pouring into both sides.,the government and the rebels. Russian
Czar Vladimir Putin is reportedly sending more arms to Syrian President Bashar
al-Assad. Iranian leaders are also standing squarely with Assad.
Meanwhile, Israel is worried about a civil war and Syrian implosion. More
instability in the epicenter poses severe risks to the Jewish State. No
one wants Assad in power. But if he falls, could his successor be worse?
Christians need to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Syria. We
also need to pray and work to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all Syrians
and strengthen the underground Church there. God has been moving powerfully in
Syria in recent years -- see here.

"President Shimon Peres was awarded the Presidential Medal of
Freedom on Wednesday -- the highest civilian award the United States
government can bestow upon an individual," reports Ynet News.
Congratulations to Mr. Peres. I had the privilege of meeting him and interviewing
him for my book, Epicenter,
several years ago. I don't always agree with his policies, but I have great
respect for him for all that he has done to liberate Jews around the world and
protect them in the State of Israel. My prayers are with him and his family
that the Lord would bless them and draw them close to His heart, according to
Jeremiah 29:11-14. "For I know the plans that I have for you,’
declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a
future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to
Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me
when you search for Me with all your heart.I will be found by you,’
declares the Lord, ‘and I will restore your fortunes and will
gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven
you,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will bring you back to the place from
where I sent you into exile.’"
