Ukraine Situation Escalates
The situation continues to escalate in Ukraine. We find ourselves here
partly because Russia sensed weakness in the United States' willingness
to respond to international aggression. How this issue is resolved will
be a test for an administration that has continuously capitulated and
misread the cards on Russia.
Armed Russian forces continue to occupy the southeastern portion of Ukraine, the Crimean peninsula. There are reports
of Russian troops firing warning shots at unarmed Ukrainian
soldiers. According to that same report, "The head of Ukraine's security
service also this morning suggested the country has come under a number
of cyber attacks from illegal telecommunications equipment installed in
Crimea since Russian troops moved into the region." According to the
New York Times, Ukrainian military units in the Crimean region have
surrendered and pledged allegiance to the Russian government.
In a press conference today, Putin referred to the situation in Ukraine
as an "unconstitutional coup," which apparently therefore justifies his
actions. Putin claims that Russia is protecting Russians living within
the region as well as its own installations. Force is not off the table
for Putin, claiming it would only be a last resort.

Another ObamaCare Delay
The Obama administration is supposedly going to announce yet another unilateral delay of ObamaCare.
According to The Hill,
official sources say that as early as this week the White House will
issue a directive instructing insurance companies to continue offering
healthcare plans that fail to meet ObamaCare's minimum standards.
The reason here is obvious: Obama is trying to do everything he can to
minimize the potential damage ObamaCare could cause Democrats in the
lead up to the elections.
This is yet another reckless example of Obama's executive overreach,
extending the power of the presidency to include the power to legislate.
ObamaCare is an unmitigated disaster, which makes it a disaster
