America "Absolutely" At Risk?
The fallout continues for this administration over the release of the
Taliban's "dream team" from Gitmo in exchange for American soldier Bowe
Bergdahl.
In his first public comments on the issue since his announcement in the
Rose Garden over the weekend, Obama acknowledged that there is
"absolutely" risk that these Taliban detainees will return to the
battlefield. But apparently that was a risk worth taking because Obama
says
this will not pose a risk to American national security.
Speaking in Poland, Obama said,
"Is there the possibility of some of them trying to return to
activities that are detrimental to us?
Absolutely. That's been true of all the prisoners that were released
from Guantanamo. There's a certain recidivism rate that takes place."
(The recidivism rate for Gitmo detainees, by the way, has been as high
as 25% and currently stands at about 16% who have returned to
terrorism.) Obama went on to claim that the United States will be
keeping an eye on them.
I have expressed sympathy for our soldiers who suffer from PTSD and
Stockholm Syndrome and it's possible that this sympathy extends to Bowe
Bergdahl. In time, the nature of his disappearance and capture will be
revealed. But aside from that, we must consider the price America may
have paid for his return. That is not to say that every American soldier
life isn't valuable, but there is no denying that these was a steep
cost for Bergdahl's freedom.
That cost includes the possibility of this Taliban "dream team"
returning to positions of power, returning to the battlefield and
ultimately
causing Americans harm in the future...continued

Climate Change Crusade
The Obama administration unveiled its plan to cut carbon emissions in the United States by 30%.
Yet again, Obama is asserting his questionable extension of executive power in order to push this climate agenda.
While America is struggling to create jobs, Obama's climate change agenda is a proven jobs killer.
At least one-third of America's coal-fired power plants will be forced to
close as a result.
According to analysis conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, these
new coal regulations will "lead to an average of 224,000 fewer U.S. jobs every year through 2030."
Remember that before Obama became president, he essentially promised to "bankrupt
the coal industry."
Looks like this is one promise he's intent on keeping.
