Obama Addresses Controversy
As ObamaCare's support sinks to record lows, the administration is doing
everything it can to distance itself from the comments of Jonathan
Gruber, the MIT professor and architect of ObamaCare who believes the
American people to be “stupid.”
Brand new Gallup polling
shows that just 37% of Americans approve of ObamaCare, which is a
record low. Its disapproval rating hit a record high of 56%.
This comes at a time when open
enrollment is starting for the ObamaCare exchanges and the law's chief
architect, Jonathan Gruber, has come under fire for exposing the true
nature of the bill.
Gruber has expressed, on many
occasions, his true feelings about the American people; he believes they
are stupid. And he explains that they relied on this “stupidity” in
order to pass ObamaCare.
The comments have surfaced and been circulating for at least a week. In typical Obama fashion, he claimed on Sunday that he had just heard about Gruber's comments.
On the one hand, this doesn't
surprise me because that is Obama's typical line: “I just heard about
this” or “I heard about it in the news, just like you.” But on the
other hand, the mainstream media hasn't exactly ran with Gruber's
comments. If Obama had been watching Fox News or listening to talk
radio, he would know what Gruber said.
Making matters worse, Obama told Fox News' Ed Henry the following:
“The fact that some adviser who never worked on our staff expressed an
opinion that I've completely disagreed with in terms of the voters, is
no reflection on the actual process that was run.”
The problem is that this is an obfuscation of the truth. Either
someone did not brief Obama properly on this issue or he is manipulating
his words to essentially lie to the American people, yet again.
Technically, Gruber is not a staff member of the Obama
administration, however he was hired by the administration and paid a
lot of money by the taxpayers in order to consult and write ObamaCare.
Adding up his different contracts with the government, Gruber has earned hundreds of thousands of dollars working on ObamaCare.
While Democrats like Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi claim that they don't know who this guy is, they were pretty eager to tout his expertise years ago.
What's happening here is yet
another cover-up, more lies, being told to the American people in order
for the Obama administration to try and avoid yet another scandal. He
should know by now that the backpeddling makes matters worse, not
better.
