State of the Union is Strong?
President Obama tried to convince the nation that America is strong and
heading in the right direction. Sorry Mr. President, but the American
people aren't truly buying it.
Obama's State of the Union attempted to "turn the page" to a new era,
but it felt like nothing more than a recycled rehashing of liberal,
ideological policies that are uninspired and will not result in a better
future for America.
In a way, one has to wonder whether Obama even believes what he is
saying anymore. His administration has exhibited an astounding level of
tone deafness when it comes to perception, and this State of the Union
falls into that category. |

What Do You Call Progress? Is This Progress?
What would you call progress? President Obama's record and his remarks
to the nation last night didn't address the $7.5 trillion increase to
the national debt.
It didn't address that median household incomes have dropped more during
"recovery" than during the recession. How about the fact that 20
million more Americans are on food stamps or that 50 million Americans
are living at or below the poverty rate.
It seems to me that Obama's idea of "recovery" is a hollow victory for Washington's creative calculators and spin-masters.
And then, oh by the way, Obama sent out a fundraising email immediately following his State of the Union address to Democrat donors.
Also out of touch is Obama's belief that we can afford the myriad of
"free" things he proposed in his speech, while we can't even afford
current levels of spending.
Unbelievable. |
