GOP To Cave? Should
the GOP give in to Democrat demands for a clean Department of Homeland
Security funding bill? Seems like they are about to do just that.
Funding for the Department of Homeland Security is coming down to the
wire. Without a bill by the end of the week, there would be a
“shutdown” of the department. But “essential” employees would still
report to work, which means that Border Patrol agents, TSA workers, the
Coast Guard and others would remain on the job.
While the House has already passed a funding bill, it does not include
funding for Obama's unconstitutional executive amnesty policies.
Democrats in the Senate refuse to even take up that bill, voting four
times not to start debate on it and thusly blocking funding for the DHS.
They are demanding a “clean bill,” meaning that its funds everything
including Obama's executive amnesty orders.
Well it looks as though the Democrats may get their wish. Mitch McConnell has indicated
that he will advance consideration of a “clean” bill in the Senate.
Then it falls to House Speaker John Boehner, who has an unfortunate
history of caving but we'll see what he decides to do.
Congress has the incredible power of the purse, a tool which can check
the president and his lawlessness. Why give in? The only explanation
can be is that Republicans are still afraid of their own shadow and
afraid of being blamed for a shutdown. The politics of that shouldn't
trump the principles which will suffer and that is allowing a president
to push beyond the bounds of the Constitution.
And while we are on the subject of executive amnesty and illegal
immigration, Barack Obama has unveiled a new term for illegal
immigrants: “Americans-in-waiting.”
There is already a legal process in place for law-abiding immigrants
to become Americans. Obama's attempt to gloss over the “illegal” part
is just par for the course with this president.

Sharpton Shakedown
Al Sharpton is all about the money, according to the daughter of Eric
Garner, the New York man who died while resisting arrest for selling
loosey cigarettes.
"You think Al Sharpton is kind of like a crook in a sense?" the investigator is heard asking Garner's oldest daughter.
"He's about this," Snipes replies, rubbing her fingers together.
"He's about money with you?" the undercover asks.
"Yeah," Snipes responds.
She's not alone. Those associated with the Trayvon Martin Foundation
similarly criticized Sharpton, calling him and his National Action
Network "shakedown guys."
The release of this undercover video coincides
coincidentally with a lawsuit against Sharpton, as well as Comcast and
Time Warner for billions of dollars. It alleges that Comcast and Time
Warner paid off Sharpton to the tune of millions to sign off on their
merger, despite the fact that they do not do business with 100%
American-American owned media companies.
Fox News has more on the lawsuit here.
What we are seeing is a pattern emerging, thanks to the
undercover work of journalists like James O'Keefe who are willing to do
the work that the mainstream media doesn't want to do. These deaths are
tragic enough without being exploited by any person or organization.
