THE SEAN HANNITY SHOW

Another Administration Lie
It's becoming par for the course.  The lies that this administration is willing to tell seem to know no bounds.  The latest has to do with al Qaeda and our national security.
Take yourself back to the 2012 presidential election.  If you will recall, one of Obama's permanent lines throughout campaign speeches and debates was that al Qaeda was “on the run” or that core al Qaeda had been “decimated.”

Remember that?
Since his re-election, it's become clear that either Obama's intel was way off or he was simply lying for the sake of political expediency.  Unfortunately, politics is the correct answer.
We are learning details of information that was gained from the successful killing of Osama bin Laden and the raid of his compound in Pakistan.  Here are the basic facts:
- By raiding bin Laden's compound, our government gained valuable intelligence regarding al Qaeda, its plans, its structure and its strength.
- This information was synthesized and hundreds of critical reports were produced.  And then … nothing.  The Obama administration did nothing with this information.  The Wall Street Journal rightly calls this “truly stunning.”
- By this time, the president is engaged in a full-on PR campaign to convince the American people that al Qaeda is on the run and decimated.  Out of the hundreds of reports generated from the information gained in the raid, the White House picked 17 to send to the U.S. Military Academy to analyze and reach the conclusion the administration wanted them to reach.  In other words, they showed them only what they wanted them to see in order to back up a story that they created for political purposes but didn't reflect the truth.  As the Wall Street Journal puts it, “It was a reassuring portrayal. It was also wrong. And those responsible for winning the war—as opposed to an election—couldn’t afford to engage in such dangerous self-delusion.”
- So military and intelligence officials were forced into a bureaucratic battle to see the documents in full.  They were granted limited, read-only access and began to produce reports on the truth nature of al Qaeda.  This didn't go over well with the Obama administration and campaign, because the truth doesn't fit their political narrative.  So the administration simply cut off access.  No more access, no more reports, no more of the truth, which would make Obama look bad during an election.
The details of what was gleaned from these reports can be read in this piece by Stephen Hayes and Tomas Joscelyn in the Wall Street Journal: “How America Was Misled on al Qaeda’s Demise.”  “Misled” is a kind word.  I would call it a lie.  Even worse, it was a lie of political expediency which put American national security and intelligence at risk.

Obama's Failed Recovery
The Obama economic recovery has failed, according to 72% of Americans.  Even with jobs reports like today, we know that the true story is still a difficult one for much of America.
Did you know that two out of every three American households are earning less money today that they were in 2002?  That's a startling statistic from a new report from the Brookings Institute.

It's no wonder then that the American people don't feel as though the economy is really improving.  A new Pew poll finds the following:
Majorities say that large banks, large corporations and the wealthy have been helped a great deal or a fair amount by government policies.
By contrast, 72% say that, in general, the government’s policies since the recession have done little or nothing to help middle class people, and nearly as many say they have provided little or no help for small businesses (68%) and the poor (65%).
The redistributionist policies of the Obama administration aren't working.  They have failed to help the poor and the middle class achieve economic prosperity or even mobility.  For an administration that has harped a lot on income inequality, it is no small detail that a vast majority of Americans feel as though it has continued to favor the wealthy.
As the stock market continues to rise, a rising number of Americans are on food stamps and have found themselves falling into poverty.  We have 92 million Americans who are no longer in the workforce.  Even though the unemployment rate reported today dropped to 5.5% in February, the labor force participation rate remains at a historic low of 62.8%, and it has been there for months.  According to CNS News, “The last time the rate was below 63 percent was 37 years ago, in March 1978 when it was 62.8 percent.”
And yet this administration has failed to support policies that would create jobs in our energy sector, for instance, and has flat-out rejected proven plans to create jobs by vetoing the Keystone Pipeline.
Barack Obama and his Democratic Party claim to have a monopoly on the hearts and minds of the poor and the middle class.  But these Americans recognize that Washington's current efforts are benefiting Wall Street not Main Street.
It's time to give these people a viable, inspiring alternative.
