Long Island banana mogul gets 12 years in attempt to cover up woman's death in wild coke orgy

The married banana baron who beat up one girlfriend and let another sex partner die of a drug overdose has been indicted for stealing almost $1 million from his employees. Thomas Hoey Jr. (pictured) illegally helped himself to over $800,000 from a pension plan. His workers' retirement money was partially used to pay on "travel to and from Cancun, Mexico for Hoey and his family, multiple trips to Aruba, limousine service, and payments to a university attended, at the time, by Hoey's son." He's charged with embezzlement, wire fraud, and money laundering for stealing from his now-bankrupt business, which at one point was pulling in $30 million a year in sales. Hoey, 46, is already face plenty of prison time. He faces up to 20 years in a federal lockup when he's sentenced next week for conspiracy to distribute cocaine and obstruction of justice. Those charges stem from the death of a woman he'd been involved in a three way sex romp with back in 2009. Prosecutors said he watched Kimberly Calo die from oding on the cocaine he'd given her, and that stopped the other woman with them from getting her medical help. That woman, Nicole Zobkiw, died of a drug overdose herself in December. Hoey was also sentenced to one to four years in state prison earlier this year for roughing up his longtime mistress Alison Bretherick. A judge said Thomas Hoey Jr. used his wealth to fund a life in which his own pleasure at the center.
