THE SEAN HANNITY SHOW

Trump Blasts Obama Administration as 'Dumbest Foreign Policy People' In U.S. History
It appears that Donald Trump is taking a practical view of American foreign policy, putting an emphasis on regional stability over the spread of political reform.

"Sometimes the bad guy is better than the people we're going to put in," Trump said on an interview on Fox News' Hannity. "You just have to see what happened in Libya and what happened in Iraq."

Trump criticized what he believes is the administration's wasteful support of unknown elements on the ground in Syria, including the Free Syrian Army and supposed "moderate" elements of the Syrian resistance.

"It's hard to get enthusiastic about backing people for billions and billions of dollars, that we have no idea who they are. This has happened to us so many times over the years we've been scammed by people."

When asked to address Russia's recent escalation of its presence in Syria, the billionaire real estate mogul didn't appear too concerned with President' Putin's aggressive support of Bashar al-Assad. Trump suggested Russian policy could lead to a repeat of the Soviet Union's ill-fated, 10-year war in Afghanistan.

"Russia will probably be in a quagmire; they'll be stuck in there for years to come. If you remember what happened to them in Afghanistan, that broke up the Soviet Union."

Trump suggested we turn our attention to pressing domestic issues.

"I want to see us rebuild the United States, our roads, our bridges, our tunnels, our airports. Everything is falling apart."

Cruz: Obama Administration Working With 'Imaginary Friends' In Syria
Since the beginning the Syrian civil war over four years ago, the Obama administration has rested its hopes on the idea of arming moderate elements within the opposition to President Bashir al-Assad. Texas Senator Ted Cruz believes that not only are such efforts are futile, but also that these supposed moderate forces are a phantom.

"They're convinced there are these mythical Syrian moderates," Cruz said on Friday's Sean Hannity Radio Show. "They've spent hundreds of millions of dollars training a handful of fighters. The moderates don't exist."

"We should work with our real not our imaginary friends," Cruz added.

If elected president, Senator Cruz' strategy would include arming Kurdish Peshmerga fighters who are currently fighting ISIS in both Syria and Iraq.

"We should be arming the Kurds who are longtime allies of America. They are fighting ISIS right now with outmoded weapons."

In addition to Kurdish fighters, Cruz said he would make an effort to repair relationships with nations who would otherwise be supporting U.S. led efforts in the region.

"We need to be standing with our allies, not appeasing our enemies. Working with the Israelis, the Jordanians, the Egyptians, who are part of this fight as well."

The Senator went on to address Russia's recent escalation of its offensive in the war-torn country, saying that weakness on the part of the president and his cabinet have drawn Russian President Vladimir Putin into the Syrian conflict...continue reading)
