Rape Survivor Slams Obama's Gun-Control Town Hall Answers
Kimberly
Corban, a survivor of rape, has dedicated her life to advocating for a
woman's right to bear arms and making sure women have the right to
defend themselves against predators. Last week, the mother of two had a
chance to confront President Obama at CNN's gun-control town hall.
"It seems like being able to purchase a firearm of my choosing and being
able to carry that wherever me and my family are, it seems like my
basic responsibility as a parent at this point," Corban told the
president. "Why can't your administration see that these restrictions
that you're putting to make it harder for me to own a gun or harder for
me to take that where I need to be is actually just making my kids and I
less safe."
Corban joined Hannity to discuss what she thought of the president's answer.
"It was kind of a non-answer," Corban told Sean. "I feel like I wasn't
necessarily listened to, but at the same time he knew how he was going
to respond. I didn't go into that town hall thinking I was going to
change his mind by any means but it was more abut starting a larger
discussion across the country about sexual assault victimization and my
right and everyone else's right to choose how we defend ourselves." (continue reading) |
