Boehner Has Some Not-So-Nice Things To Say About Ted Cruz Former Speaker of the House John Boehner is speaking out on the GOP's potential nominees; and Ted Cruz probably isn't going to like what he has to say. During a recent speaking engagement, Boehner compared the Texas Senator and GOP hopeful to none other than the prince of darkness himself. When specifically asked his opinions on Ted Cruz, Boehner made a face, drawing laughter from the crowd. "Lucifer in the flesh," the former speaker said. "I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life." While the former Speaker of the House was highly critical of the Texas Senator, he was actually fairly complementary toward Donald Trump: oehner described other Republican candidates as friends.
