Muhammad Ali, who rose above poverty and racism to become an icon died late Friday night in Arizona.

Police secured the entrance to 20 Ave. D (The Lillian wald Houses) where a male was shot and removed to a local hospitol in life-threatening condition. This picture was made on 2/23/15 at approximately 5:15pm. The victim was found with multiple shots to the gut outside a courtyard of the Lillian Wald Houses on E. 6th St. near Ave. D. at 1:52 a.m., according to police.

Queens water upgrade may be deadly to native horseshoe crabs

More than a dozen horseshoe crabs on the shore of the East River at College Point became stuck in a boom that was placed there as part of a water main project of MacNeil Park in Queens. The crabs had some to the shore to lay eggs but were unable to make their way back into the water. Kat Cervino of the Coastal Preservation Network helped rescue and and release them into the river. A project to upgrade water mains and sewers in northern Queens could be deadly to scores of horseshoe crabs.
