Woman robbed by fake NYC Uber driver who threatened to sexually assault, shoot her

The NYPD is seeking the public's assistance in locating and identifying the following individual in connection to a robbery within the confines of the 7 Precinct in Manhattan. The circumstances are as follows:It has been reported to police that on Saturday, May 15, 2016 at approximately 0130 hours the victim entered a vehicle that she thought was an Uber taxi she requested in the vicinity of Mangin Street and East Houston Street after the driver stated that he was there to pick her up. As the victim was being transported in the individual's black four-door sedan, she began to realize the individual was not driving towards her residence. As the vehicle passed the 96 Street exit on the FDR Drive, the individual demanded money while threatening to shoot and sexually assault her. The victim complied with his demands and gave her property to the male as he exited the highway at an unknown location in northern Manhattan. The victim was able to escape the vehicle while it was stopped at a red light on Park Avenue. The victim was not injured and the male fled with the victim’s iPhone, wallet, $20 in cash, a debit card, a Metrocard, a jacket, and a pair of gold earrings.The individual is described as follows:Male, black, in his 30's, short hair, dark skin, with a beard. A 24-year-woman hoping to catch an Uber ride home to Brooklyn after a night in the East Village stepped into the wrong car , cops said.
