Trump Lays Out Plan To Stem Crime In Black Communities
As
the Black Lives Matter movement continues to
protest perceived police brutality against the black community in the
United States, historically black cities are facing some of their
deadliest years on record.
In August, there were 90 homicides in Chicago, the most the city had
seen in a single month since July 1993. As the Chicago Tribune reported,
the 472 homicides recorded through August 2016 puts Chicago on track to
surpass the death toll for all of 2015 with more than three months to
go in the year. This violence overwhelmingly impacts the black
community, and Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson has blamed a
lack of
punishment and the propagation of guns for the bedlam.

NEW RASMUSSEN POLL: Trump Expands Lead
A new 4-way national poll from Rasmussen Reports is
showing GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump expanding his lead over Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Rasmussen reports:
The latest Rasmussen Reports weekly White House Watch telephone and
online survey finds Trump with 44% support among Likely U.S. Voters to
Clinton's 39%. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson earns eight percent
(8%) of the vote, while Green Party nominee Jill Stein holds steady at
two percent (2%). Three percent (3%) like some other candidate, and five
percent (5%) are still undecided.
Last week's Rasmussen poll showed Trump edging out Clinton 42%-40%
