There’s so much happening today, not the least of which is the story of IRS targets who testified today. Today, the Washington Post is even saying that the Obama Administration is on the rocks. Let me put some context on this. When President Obama was elected it was marked as a landslide. TV ratings had decreased over the last few months as conservatives were kind of down and not engaged. Over the last two months, these scandals have re-energized audiences and we’re seeing TV ratings up 20% over last year, which was an election year! Trust in government is at a new low and President Obama has lost all momentum. Now, what happened today was that the victims of IRS targeting stood up to offer proof of federal violations. We heard today, one after another, about abuse from your government and yet President Obama stood before America during his campaign for re-election to promise a transparent government. Another broken promise, I guess. For more on thi s, click here. Owning Obama Care The Democrats are adopting a perplexing strategy for the 2014 mid-term election: Embracing Obama Care. A Politico piece out today – “ Democrats' 2014 strategy: Own Obamacare” – states that “Party strategists believe that embracing the polarizing law — especially its more popular elements — is smarter politics than fleeing from it in the House elections.” Today Republican Senator Marco Rubio announced that he is proposing an amendment called the “Right to Refuse.” It is exactly what it sounds like: Invalidate the requirement under Obama Care to buy health insurance. Rubio says, “We should put our faith in the American people to decide what goods and services they want to buy, not have Congress dictate it and have the IRS empowered to harass Americans to make sure they do it.” The battle over Obama Care is far from over. While Democrats and the Obama administration embrace the sales-pitch, the American people are looking at the scandal-laden IRS and it's role in enforcing Obama Care, the scandals surrounding HHS Secretary Sebelius and the onslaught of news stories about Obama Care's failures. That is a lot for the Democrats, even with a compliant news media, to overcome. Check out Hannity.com for more facts on why Obama Care is so controversial. |
Administration's Secret Email Accounts Remember that time when Barack Obama promised to run the most transparent administration in history? It's laughable at this point to even think that he aspired to do so, considering that his administration has been filled with secrecy, evasiveness and everything we've come to loathe about Washington. Today we learned that Obama's top political appointees have been using secret email accounts to conduct official administration business. There are apparently non-public government email accounts being used by officials at various agencies. Officials claim they are necessary in or to keep their inboxes from being overwhelmed. The problem arises when Freedom of Information Act requests are made by, let's say, news organizations. The Associated Press, which broke the story, can only identify one instance where a FOIA request resulted in the government turning over the material related to a secret email account. At this point, the public trust in this administra tion and Washington in general must be at an all-time low. We've been given absolutely no reason to believe that these people feel any sense of necessity to operate with a moral compass. For more, check out my article on Hannity.com. Today's "Hot Topic" From the Hannity Forums 2016 Is No Longer A Lock For Hillary - Posted by Orygun A seismic change happened just recently and few have noticed. Sen Lautenberg (D) of New Jersey just died. Chris Christie has to replace him but a new election for the Senate seat will happen in November of this year instead of November of 2014. Cory Booker, the mayor of Newark, NJ has been a rising star in the Democratic Party. Young, smart, very charismatic and well loved, he has already thrown his hat in the ring for the senate seat but he thought he would have to wait until 2014. Now he will likely pick up the seat in 2013, and will also be given a lot of press coverage this fall because its a special election for a senate seat. With three years under his belt in the senate, he will have served more time than Obama before he became prez. Cory Booker could easily decide to run for president and has a strong chance of winning the Dem nomination, especially if Hillary decides to bow out. Watch out for this guy. >>TV Tonight (9pm ET) Senator Rand Paul reacts to the AP's investigation that revealed top Obama aides using secret email accounts. |
