Worst President Ever?
Fox News came out recently with the year-end poll measuring President Obama’s performance.  What’s the story?  In 2009, 16 percent of respondents thought President Obama would go down in history as “one of the worst presidents ever.”  Last year that number was 23% Fast forward to today?  Nearly 30% of respondents feel President Obama will go down in history as “one of the worst presidents ever.” President Obama flew into Washington DC as a hero, the savior of America from the very unpopular President Bush.  It appears now  that President Bush is fighting back.  Or, more likely, America is waking up.

Complete Waste
A report from the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction was released this week. It found that the Army Corps of Engineers paid $5.4 million for trash incinerators that are considered “unusable.” Not only that, but the incinerators were delivered two years behind schedule. As a result, soldiers were forced to burn their waste in open-air pits, which exposed them to potential health hazards. So we invested millions of dollars to wait around for equipment that ultimately didn't work. Is this really the best use of our tax dollars? Of course not! Unfortunately this isn't the only example of waste coming from Afghanistan. I've told you about several examples before, including $500 million that was spent by American taxpayers on aircraft for the Afghan Air Force, only for the contract to be abandoned and the planes have sat unused. For more on this, check out FoxNews.com.

Never-ending Supply Of Stupid
There seems to be a never-ending supply of stupid ways that our government finds to spend our tax dollars. CNS News has the latest example ... "The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is planning to spend $3.35 million to 'improve the quality of media content and strengthen the media's capacity to meet professional standards.'" The kicker is that this is to improve media quality, not in America, but in Armenia! "No American media organizations are eligible for the grant, but 'government controlled and government owned organizations' in Armenia are encouraged to apply." If our tax dollars are going to be used to improve professional media standards, why not start within our own country? I don't think that would be a proper use of our tax dollars, but it just goes to show the ridiculous ways the government chooses to spend our money.
