Polling: America Weaker
Barack Obama has made America weaker in the eyes of
the American public. Brand new Fox News polling shows that 55% of
Americans overall believe Obama has made our country weaker. While almost 90% of Republican feel that way,
22% of Democrats also agree that Obama has made us weaker. Of independents, 59% believe Obama has made
America weaker. Many voters now see the Obama administration as incompetent and
they have given us good reason to feel this way. Sixty-eight percent of voters feel Obama's
administration is less competent then that of Bill Clinton's. A plurality (48%) believe Obama's
administration is less competent than the administration of George W. Bush. Obama's
overall approval numbers remain underwater.
His disapproval ratings on other issues such as healthcare and the
economy continue to trump his approval ratings.
And it's not just Fox News polling indicating America's
disapproval. CNN polling similarly reflects the fact that
Obama does not have a majority approval on any of the main issues polled. But
there is somewhere where Obama's approval ratings have been rising ... in the Middle East.
Was the
Bergdahl Prisoner Exchange a Good Idea? In regards to the latest headlines surrounding the
swap of Bowe Bergdahl for the Taliban "dream team," Americans aren't all that
happy with Obama. According to the Fox News polling, a vast
majority (84%) of Americans are concerned that the deal puts American soldiers
in more danger. Negotiating with terrorists
is seen universally as being dangerous for our soldiers over concerns that more
could be taken hostage as a result. In
the case of Bowe Bergdahl and the Taliban Five, Barack Obama seems to have
taken things a step further, overriding the intelligence community within his
own executive branch. According to a report from TIME Magazine, "To
pull off the prisoner swap of five Taliban leaders for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the
White House overrode an existing interagency process charged with debating the
transfer of Guantanamo Bay prisoners and dismissed long-standing Pentagon and
intelligence community concerns based on Top Secret intelligence about the
dangers of releasing the five men." The article goes on to say,
"Obama's move was an ultimate victory for those at the White House and the
State Department who had previously argued the military should 'suck it up and
salute,' says the official familiar with the debate." Glad to hear the White House has such high
respect for our military.

Rogue President?
Barack Obama and his administration's blatant
disregard for the rule of law has gone far enough. From ObamaCare to immigration laws, this
administration has gone beyond the boundaries of the executive branch,
flaunting the rule of law. Obama failing
to inform Congress before releasing five Gitmo detainees is yet another example
in an already overflowing bucket of illegal executive actions. It's become, as
many have labeled it, an uber presidency.
It's dangerous and it must end.
There's a reason why our system is set up with separation of powers and
checks and balances, and it is to make sure that one branch of government can't
run away with too much power. The ends
do not justify the means; the process matters in America. I agree with law
professor Jonathan Turley that this president has brought us to a
Constitutional tipping point. Turley
said on Hannity the other night: “People don't seem to understand that the
separation of powers is not about the power of these branches, it's there to
protect individual liberty, it's there to protect us from the concentration of
power. That's what is occurring here. You know, I've said it before but Barack
Obama is really the president Richard Nixon always wanted to be. You know, he's
been allowed to act unilaterally in a way that we've fought for decades.” He's
absolutely right.
