THE SEAN HANNITY SHOW

Road to 2016
The road to 2016 starts here at CPAC, the annual Conservative Political Action Conference.

There is an energy here among the students, activists and other conservative attendees that is palpable. There is a very distinct and real possibility that one of these potential GOP candidates will be the next President of the United States in less than two years.
I will have the chance to interview many of them and ask the tough questions.  Some of you maybe already have a favorite and have made up your mind as to who you would like to see as the nominee for 2016.  I've yet to make up my mind.  My job is the interview the potential candidates and give you as much information about them so that you can make an informed decision.
What I'm looking for is a bold candidate who can articulate conservative principles in an inspired way.
There must be a mix of principled idealism based on limited government and maximum freedom and concrete conservative plans: to repeal and replace ObamaCare; revitalize opportunity within our economy, thereby decreasing dependency on government; secure our borders; reform our education system and offer choice to parents; push for energy independence; maintain a strong national defense and reestablish America's international leadership.
Are we going to undo Obama's damage?  Picking the right conservative candidate for this moment could impact this country for a generation.  It all starts here ...

Expanding Government & Authority
In the age of Obama, government only continues to grow and he continues to claim more authority as president.  For those of us who want limited government and a president that acts within the bounds of the constitution, this is very disturbing.
During a townhall event this week, Barack Obama dared the GOP to challenge him on his executive amnesty actions.  He claims, "What we've done is we've expanded my authorities under executive action."
Expanded his authorities?  And where, Mr. President, does one claim to have this expanded authority? Not from our Constitution.  Yet that isn't stopping Obama.
Having had his way with immigration, now Obama is moving on to guns.
As promised, President Obama is using executive actions to impose gun control on the nation, targeting the top-selling rifle in the country, the AR-15 style semi-automatic, with a ban on one of the most-used AR bullets by sportsmen and target shooters.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives this month revealed that it is proposing to put the ban on 5.56 mm ammo on a fast track, immediately driving up the price of the bullets and prompting retailers, including the huge outdoors company Cabela's, to urge sportsmen to urge Congress to stop the president.
Regulations have become the defacto way to expand government.  Consider the huge step taken by the FCC this week to regulate the Internet as a public utility.  Welcome to the Obamanet.
Political control of our economy continues to grow under Obama.  ObamaCare is one of the largest examples.  Now add to it the regulation of the Internet and regulations on energy.  What we have here is an executive branch and a bureaucracy that only continues to grow in size and authority.  This is anything but good for our freedom, liberty and hopes of shrinking the scope of government.
