Releasing Dangerous Guantanamo Detainees Among Barack Obama's first promises when becoming president was to shut down Guantanamo Bay. While he has been unable to achieve this thus far, what Obama has managed to do is release many Gitmo detainees, despite warnings from the Director of National Intelligence that they were likely to return to the battlefield But that didn't stop Obama, and former detainees are doing exactly what you would expect. According to a report from the Director of National Intelligence, almost 30 percent of the 647 released Guantanamo detainees have either been confirmed or are suspected of returning to radical Islamic terrorism. It is astounding that we are facing the rise of radical Islam and extremism throughout the world, and yet our own president is so ideologically rigid that his policies are helping to add to their ranks. Executive Amnesty Costing Taxpayers The governors of 26 states are demanding an investigation into Barack Obama's executive amnesty after it was discovered that the administration secretly gave 100,000 illegal immigrants amnesty documents before they were supposed to. If you will recall, the courts had put a freeze on Obama's amnesty plan for violating the federal rules making process. But this didn't stop the Obama administration from continuing with its plans nonetheless. The Obama administration did this in direct deception of the courts claiming "confusion." A Congressional study estimates that Obama's amnesty order will cost the taxpayers $1.7 billion in tax rebates promised to as many as 5 million illegals. In fact, the Heritage Foundation estimates that the cost of Obama's executive amnesty order will be over $2 trillion over the next five decades. Unbelievable.
