THE SEAN HANNITY SHOW

Shooting in Ferguson
We are yet again faced with unfortunately tragic news from Ferguson, Missouri. Two police officers were shot overnight, on the heels of the police chiefs' resignation in the wake of the Justice Department's report of the Ferguson police department.

Two police officers were shot around midnight last night in Ferguson as protesters gathered as the announcement was made yesterday of the resignation of the town's police chief Thomas Jackson. In a video recorded at the time of the shooting, a protester can be heard taunting the officers immediately after the shooting, saying: “Acknowledgement nine months ago would have kept that from happening.” An officer on the scene called it an “ambush” and the St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar believes that “these shots were directed exactly at my officers.”

The officers' conditions are said to be very serious but not life-threatening. We pray for their speedy recoveries.

Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson was relieved of his duties yesterday, making him the sixth public employee to no longer work for the city of Ferguson. These resignations and firings have occurred in the shadow of a recent Department of Justice report which implicated the Ferguson police department for being racially biased in their methods and driven by profits.

Another report issued by the Justice Department cleared officer Darren Wilson of civil rights charges in the shooting of Michael Brown, though Wilson has already resigned from the Ferguson Police Department.

Less than one week ago, Eric Holder said that he was prepared to “dismantle” the Ferguson police department in light of his Department's findings. As reported by the Washington Post: "We are prepared to use all the powers that we have, all the power that we have, to ensure that the situation changes there. That means everything from working with them to coming up with an entirely new structure," Holder said. When asked if that included dismantling the department, he said, "If that's what's necessary, we're prepared to do that."

Unfortunately it seems as though protesters have taken that into their own hands.

Throughout the months since Michael Brown's shooting, the rhetoric from the likes of Al Sharpton, Eric Holder and even Barack Obama has done anything but quell the anxiety among protesters in Ferguson. The rhetoric surrounding this case, from the beginning, has been irresponsible. People rushed to judgement in the case of Darren Wilson and contributed to the charged environment, which led to businesses getting burned and now officers getting shot.

The Most Important Problem Facing our Country
What is the most important problem facing our country?
Unfortunately we have a lot of options to chose from: unemployment, radical Islamic terrorism, cyber terrorism, illegal immigration.
But according to the latest Gallup polling, “dissatisfaction with government” is the most important problem facing our country.
It outranks the economy, healthcare and illegal immigration as the top problem.
In fact, dissatisfaction with government has widened its lead as the top concern for Americans and ranked as the number one concern over the last four months straight.
As government fails to adequately address so many of the issues we are facing, it's no wonder that Americans are highly dissatisfied.
It's time for bold, inspiring leadership that can get government working for us, rather than against our interests.
