Brooklyn teen remains hospitalized after being thrown from motorbike as cops search for man that crashed it

On Friday, May 1, 2015, at 1639 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Linden Boulevard and New Jersey Avenue. Upon arrival, responding officers observed a female lying the roadway unconscious and unresponsive. EMS also responded to the scene and transported the female to Brookdale Hospital where she is listed in critical condition. A preliminary investigation determined that a red 2004 Kawasaki dirt bike, being driven by an unknown male, was driving at a high rate of speed north bound on New Jersey Avenue, with a 14-year-old female passenger, when it struck a 2007 Honda that was making a U-turn from south bound to north bound on New Jersey Avenue. Both the unidentified driver and the female passenger were thrown from the bike. The male driver then got up and ran from the scene. The driver of Honda stayed on scene. A Brooklyn girl thrown from a motorbike remained hospitalized and in critical condition Saturday as cops search for her “friend.”

NO DICE! 5 Brooklyn men arrested for gambling, face gun charges too

On Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 0310 hours, two witnesses entered the 83 Precinct to report a group of three individuals in their 30's menacing people with a firearm, walking south on Wilson Avenue at Menahan Street. The Precinct alerted its Anti Crime team of this information and a description of the two males and one female. While in route to the location, the Anti Crime team, consisting of a sergeant and two police officers in plain clothes and operating an unmarked department auto, observed the two males and a female, near the intersection of Palmetto Street and Wilson Avenue. A cab driver, stopped at that location, pointed out the group to the officers. When the officers pulled up to them, Sergeant James Weibert exited the front passenger side of the vehicle with his shield visible around his neck, and encountered the two males and female. One of the individuals, a 29-year-old male Hispanic, crouched behind a parked vehicle with a firearm in his hand and pointed the weapon in the direction of the sergeant. The sergeant, never losing sight of the suspect and giving verbal commands of "Police, don't move" and "drop the gun", discharged one round from his service weapon. No one was struck. At this point, the suspect dropped his weapon and was taken into custody along with a 32-year-old male and a 31-year-old female. A loaded Interarms .44 caliber revolver was recovered from the scene. One officer was removed to Wycoff Hospital, where he was treated and released for a knee injury incurred while effecting the arrest. Two other officers, including the sergeant, were also removed to Wycoff Hospital, where they were treated and released for tinnitus. Charges are pending. The investigation is ongoing. Five men found playing dice and drinking on a Brooklyn street face gun possession charges after cops found a pistol within their reach.
