Cops probe how heroin stash ended up buried in Bronx park

Employees found more than 500 glassine bags filled with heroin hidden under tree branches, leaves and covered over with rice according to law enforcement sources, in University Woods Park in the University Heights section of the Bronx. The rice is used to keep the heroin powder free of moisture. Two cell phones, a box cutter were also recovered. Police are investigating how a massive stash of heroin ended up buried in a Bronx park, officials said Monday.
