The former state Senate Majority Leader was convicted Friday of bribery, extortion and conspiracy charges for abusing his powerful post to enrich his son. The Manhattan Federal Court jury also convicted his son Adam, 33, of aiding and abetting in the scheme. The felonious father and son face up to 130 years in prison when they're sentenced by Judge Kimba Wood early next year. The disgraced father-and-son don't need prison because they've suffered enough, Skelos lawyers claim.

Mississippi toddler not dropped off at day care, died in car

The Little Footprint Learning Center daycare facility in Gluckstadt, Mississippi, where a woman accidentally forgot to drop off her child, returned to pick up the child and realized that the 2-year-old had died of heat in her car. Police say a Mississippi toddler died after her mother forgot about her and left her in a hot car all day.

A Long Island man faces attempted murder charges after he knifed a man 11 times in a vicious road-rage attack on the Upper East Side on April 23, 2016. Police on Wednesday busted Martin Luciano (pictured) and charged him with the bloody attack. A police chase that began in Massachusetts ended in New Hampshire as several officers jumped on the driver and took him into custody. For reasons not yet known, a high speed police chase began in the Massachusetts town of Holden on Wednesday afternoon and continued through Hudson, N.H. before coming to an end in nearby Nashua. At the end of the chase, the driver can be seen stepping out of the truck and going to the ground. Police officers then move in on the driver, and several appear to throw punches and use their knees to subdue the him. Police officers punched a wanted man who had surrendered after a high-speed, two-state pursuit led them to Nashua, N.H., Wednesday.
