Bill O'Reilly:
The Big Con
Please listen up. We are all being conned by the
Obama administration. This year, the American taxpayer will fork over
about $571 billion to pay for educating children in the nation's public
schools. All told, the country spends close to $16,000 per student every
year on primary through college education. That's the highest
per-student spending rate in the world.
Brent Bozell:
'Dialogue' Required for Violent Video Games
The Obama administration's assault on the Second Amendment in
reaction to Newtown is not a serious solution. It's a Band-Aid on cancer.
The NRA's call for armed guards in every school also misses the point.
When is anyone going to get serious? The problem is violence, a violence
of monstrous and horrific proportions that has infected America's popular
culture
John Hawkins:
20 Of The Most Embarrassing Moments In The History Of The Democrat Party
For example, one will virtually never hear that the
Palmer Raids, Prohibition, or American eugenics were thoroughly
progressive phenomena.

The Public Has Spoken – 100,000 Americans Sign WH Petition on Cellphone Unlocking
On January 26, 2013, the Librarian of Congress issued
a ruling that made it illegal to unlock new phones. Unlocking is a
technique to alter the settings on your phone to let you use your phone
on a different carrier.
Ken Blackwell:
What will Kerry Do About Christian Persecution in China?
Secretary of State John Kerry chose an interesting
place to deliver his first foreign policy address. The former
Massachusetts senator spoke at the University of Virginia. He was
introduced by the university’s president, Teresa Sullivan. Dr. Sullivan
noted that the university’s founder, Thomas Jefferson, had served as the
first Secretary of State.
John C. Goodman:
What Is Liberalism?
President Obama is said to have made the case for a
liberal public policy agenda in his State of the Union speech the other
night. But what is liberalism?
Kathryn Lopez:
The Church Doesn't Need a Revolution
The pope has renounced the papal throne. Long live
the progressive pope! Such are the rallying cries from establishment
voices wanting to see the Catholic Church loosen up now that Pope
Benedict XVI has decided to step down. But maybe people should listen to
the Church's actual views.
Paul Greenberg:
Higher Education, R.I.P.
What ever happened to the medium once known as Little Magazines? This
country once had a select group of literary and political journals that
represented the vanguard of American thought and art. Some were both
literary and political. High Culture, it was called when there was still
such a thing.
Rich Galen:
Moving Pictures
The other day, the President railed against
Congressional (read: Republican) inaction on averting the sequester by
giving a speech while surrounded by uniformed policemen. The picture was
designed to make the point that if the automatic cuts go into effect,
people across the country will lose police protection.
Daniel J. Mitchell:
The New York Times Calls (again) for Higher Taxes on Middle-Class Americans
All statists want much bigger government, but not all of them are honest about how to finance a Greek-sized welfare state.
Rich Tucker:
Not Just the Face on the $50 Bill
Scenes from a crisis: “Results of today indicate
immediate danger of general national bank panic,” a U.S. senator warned
the president. “Government funds should not be drawn upon but should be
increased.”
Nathan Slaughter:
This Company is Harnessing the Cheapest Energy on Earth
If you've ever visited Old Faithful at Yellowstone
National Park or taken a hot springs bath, then you understand the basic
principle. In the simplest terms, geothermal heat is produced deep in
the earth's crust and then carried toward the surface by rising magma,
the shifting of tectonic plates and other geologic forces.
Ed Feulner:
The Energy Potential of Fracking
Say you were a politician, and there was a domestic
energy source available that’s clean and abundant. One that has the
potential to create new jobs and revitalize local economies. Would you
do more to encourage it?
Charles Payne:
Love Letter
On January 31 of this year, Goodyear Tire made the
decison to close its sprawling commerical and farm tire plant in north
France. The company in fact decided to bolt Europe, Africa, and the
Middle East. It simply became too expensive.
Ransom Notes Radio:
This is Not an Era of Austerity
John Ransom discussed the impacts of high fuel
prices, and spoke with Bill Gunderson about various ways to look for
opportunity in the market.
Bill Tatro:
The People Who Count the Votes
As we all fondly remember, Berlusconi is the impish
longtime politician who dared to lead a so-called typical Italian
lifestyle (at least as portrayed by Federico Fellini) and still be the
head of state.
Night Watch:
Egypt's Shura Council Adopts New Election Laws
Mursi's stated intention is to use the elections to
quiet protests. A new electoral mandate will give him that power.
Protests after Friday prayers should be a good gauge of elite reaction
to the content of the law.
Steve Deace:
The Debate We Have to Win, Otherwise We Lose the Country
Recently a discussion of this story about DC Comics
being pressured by homosexual activists to fire one of its writers
because he’s on the board of the National Organization of Marriage
prompted vigorous debate on my Facebook wall.
Mike Shedlock:
Are Speculators to Blame for High Gasoline Prices?
Nonetheless, consumers feel the pinch as pump prices
have risen 34 straight days. For only the fifth time in history Gas
prices topped $4 a gallon in District of Columbia.
Ann-Marie Murrell:
My Democrat/O.C.D. Connection
Fortunately, 9/11 cleared the fog of political O.C.D.
from my head. Seeing the ruins of the Twin Towers, I realized that the
Democrat Party was very good for nothing.
Michelle Malkin:
Why Do Democrats Hate American Manufacturers?
Here's the latest example of head-splitting cognitive
dissonance in Washington: President Obama used his State of the Union
address to crusade for a revitalized U.S. manufacturing sector. But
while he pays lip service to supporting businesses that build their
products on American soil, Obama and his left-wing operatives are
hell-bent on driving a key sector of the U.S. manufacturing industry six
feet under: the American firearms and ammunition industry.
