Suing Obama
It's been a long time coming. This president has demonstrated time and
time again that he has little regard for the checks and balances and
separation of powers established in our Constitution. As a result, House
Speaker John Boehner is leading the charge to sue Barack Obama,
compelling him to follow his Constitutional oath to faithfully execute
the laws.
The Washington Post
reports, "Speaker John A. Boehner will ask the House to approve a
lawsuit designed to 'compel the president to follow his oath of office
and
faithfully execute the laws of our country.' The unusual action, he
wrote in a letter to his colleagues, stems from President Obama's having
'circumvented the Congress through executive action, creating his own
laws and excusing himself from executing statutes he is sworn to
enforce.'"
The legislation would allow members of the House to go through the House
General Counsel and file a lawsuit through the Bipartisan Legal
Advisory Group (BLAG) .
Perhaps Barack Obama needs a little reminder that he is the President
which is a part of the Executive Branch. The purpose of this branch is
to execute the laws. There is another branch of our government - the
Legislative Branch - which is tasked with creating, or legislating, the
laws. They are separate for a reason and each cannot function properly
without the other. Without laws created by the legislature, there are
no laws for the executive to enforce; without the executive faithfully
executing laws, there is no purpose for the legislature to create laws
to begin with.
It's a pretty simple yet brilliant concept that has carried our nation
to this point, yet has been perverted in recent years by the current
occupant of the White House. At the heart of the issue are these
"executive actions" taken by Obama, which virtually circumvent Congress
and
create de-facto laws. Examples include changes to immigration laws,
ObamaCare, minimum wage for federal contractors.
Boehner clarifies that this is "not about impeachment." He believes that
Obama's actions are eroding the power of the Legislative Branch. He
also points out...continued |

Free Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi
Yesterday, Sean spoke with Jill Tahmooressi, Fox News host, Greta Van
Susteren and Rep. Matt Salmon (R-AZ) about the U.S. Marine, Andrew
Tahmooressi who has been held in a Mexican prison since April 1, 2014.
Tahmooressi accidentally crossed the Mexican border while on his way to
San Diego with his legally-owned firearms.
Jill Tahmooressi, mother of Sgt. Tahmooressi is discouraged by the lack
of urgency on behalf of the Obama Administration to bring her son back
from Mexico. Van Susteren has been following Sgt. Tahmooressi's case
since the beginning, and even traveled to the border to expose how easy
it would be to accidentally cross the border into Mexico. Salmon
returned from Mexico last week after meeting with Sgt. Tahmooressi for a
second time.
Currently, there is a resolution in the House of
Representatives that demands the immediate release of Sgt. Tahmooressi, but so far, only 17 cosponsors have signed on.
The Tahmooressi family is also patiently waiting on the Obama Administration to acknowledge their Whitehouse.gov petition,
which reached it's 100,000 signature threshold almost a month ago. The
Administration is supposed to acknowledge the petition once it garners
over 100,000 signatures.
For more information about Sgt. Tahmooressi's case, please visit his family's official website. |
