ISIS on the Border
Are you concerned about ISIS militants being able to come in and
out of the United States, perhaps even through our Southern border?
Americans and Westerners joining the ranks of ISIS is certainly a
concern. There are at least 100 Americans who have joined ISIS. With
American passports, these terrorists are capable of returning back to
America. Democratic Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger told the Washington Examiner
earlier this week: "There was an American that went over and he
was radicalized, trained to be a suicide bomber and he came home to see
his parents, left, went back and when he went back he killed himself and
a lot of people. That's an example. What's concerning to us is when
you have a passport, you can go back and forth with impunity."
But that's not all. Our porous Southern border certainly could be a
way for radical Islamic terrorists or sympathizers to penetrate
American soil. I visited the border just months ago. While at the
border I attended a briefing with Texas Governor Rick Perry. People
from countries like Yemen, Syria, Pakistan and Afghanistan have been
apprehended at our border.
With all of this you would think there would be a heightened sense
of urgency to secure our borders, especially considering the threats of
terrorism made against the United States. These terrorists have stated
that they wish to do us harm and our vulnerable border is no secret.
Considering they've already caught terrorists at our borders and others
from countries that sponsor terrorism, where's the urgency? |

The Meltdown of Healthcare.gov
A brand new report sheds light on the epic meltdown of Healthcare.gov.
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released the
report this week on the rollout of the ObamaCare exchange website.
Here's the bottom line: "Officials at CMS and HHS refused to admit to
the public that the website was not on track to launch without
significant functionality problems and substantial security risks.
There is also evidence that the Administration, to this day, is
continuing its efforts to shield ongoing problems with the website from
public view." You can read 8 damning emails that have been released
related to the website release here at The Verge.com. Needless to say, this is government incompetence and negligence at its worst. |
