Time to put America First
With Congressional Democrats demanding that the U.S. do her "fair share" and accept 100,000 Syrian refugees next year, Breitbart.com has released some alarming figures regarding our welfare system and refugees:
"According to the Office of Refugee Resettlement...in Fiscal Year 2013,
91.4 percent of Middle Eastern refugees...received food stamps, 73.1
percent were on Medicaid or Refugee Medical Assistance, and 68.3 percent
were on cash welfare."
Senator Jeff Sessions office pointed out that " ...concerning all
immigration, the Migration Policy Institute notes that the U.S. has
taken in 'about 20 percent of the world's international migrants even as
it represents less than 5 percent of the global population.'
It seems to me that America is doing more than her fair to help the world's refugees. It's time to put America first. |

Not All Attacks Are Created Equally
Donald Trump has, until this past week, been handling some of his
opponents differently than others. With some he's taken to outright
attacks, like when he attacked former New York Governor George Pataki
for being "unfit to lead and polling zero in the polls." Trump has
been much kinder to fellow front-runner, Dr. Ben Carson. His harshest
criticism was that Carson lacks "the energy to be a leader
." There was, however, a surprising civility in those attacks.
Trump, while criticizing Carson for having a lack of energy, couched his
insults with phrases like "Ben is a nice man" and "Carson is a good
doctor...not great..but good."
Carson responded
to Trump's accusations of low energy by saying, "I recognize that I
have plenty of energy. When you operate on people for 10, 12 hours,"
continued Carson, "[you must make] critical decisions after many hours
of intense work..."
Trump is trying to find a way to bring down Carson's favorability rating which is now above 50%. When a candidate's favorability gets that high, it becomes a risk to attack too hard. A lesson Trump may be learning now. |
