N.Y. Library celebrates re-opening of underground branch

The New York Public Library is reopening its only subway branch Wednesday morning after a year of renovations. The tiny nook -- 2,130 square feet -- is in the station on the 6 line at Lexington and 50th. It's been a library since the 19th century when it was the library for the Archdiocese of NY, created in 1887. The NYPL took it over in 1992. The New York Public Library is celebrating the re-opening of one of its most unique outposts after a year of renovations.
