Video published Nov. 20,2015 of an armed robber shooting Tulane medical student Peter Gold in the stomach after Gold came to a woman's aid. The gunman then tried to shoot him in the head but the gun jammed. Police description: On November 20, 2015 Sixth District officers responded to an armed robbery and aggravated battery by shooting in the 1000 block of St. Mary Street. The perpetrator of the incident is a black male attired in a dark color hoodie with a large automatic firearm. The perpetrator is observed driving a grey Ford Expedition with a hitch or lift on the back. The vehicle appears to have a black front bumper and step rails on the side. The rear driver side tire is missing a hub cap. A Tulane University medical student saw his life threatened and then saved Friday morning.

Missing Washington College student in Maryland found dead of self-inflicted gunshot wound

Washington College student Jacob Marberger, 19, went missing early Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, after driving from his school in Maryland to his parents' home in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania. He disappeared with a rifle case and was later found dead on Nov. 21 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A student whose disappearance prompted the weeklong closure of the Washington College campus in Maryland was found dead.

Wasim al-Nuqari, a 38-year-old war reporter, was killed in Syria on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, in the eastern countryside of Homs province while covering the Syrian Army's operations against ISIS. He worked for Syrian TV for many years and had recently been working as a war reporter for the armed forces. A Syrian journalist was killed while covering the army’s operations against ISIS militants in the country’s central region.

A Kansas University professor who used the n-word during a class discussion about race is on leave while the university investigates a discrimination complaint against her. Andrea Quenette, assistant professor of communication studies, said she was notified Friday morning that five individuals, whose names she does not know, filed a discrimination complaint against her with KU’s Office of Institutional Opportunity and Access. She said her supervisors agreed to her request for a leave of absence with pay until the investigation concludes. A white professor who used the n-word during a lecture about racism on college campus has been placed on paid leave.
