Uber driver in Georgia charged with raping passenger

Uber driver John M. Kamens, 49, of Statham, Georgia, allegedly provided a ride to a 28-year-old female Uber customer on Dec. 14 and later allegedly burglarized her home and sexually assaulted her. Kamens also works at the Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department. John Kamens, 49, returned to woman’s Athens house at midnight, broke in and attacked her in a terrifying assault.

That suspect also was seen following the victim for several blocks before she got home. He asked if something was burning and once inside of her residence, the suspect slapped and choked the victim. He then removed her clothing and forced her to perform oral sex. The suspect took the victim's cellphone and removed $250 from the victim's wallet and fled on foot. The victim was treated and released at an area hospital. A predator posing as a concerned neighbor assaulted a woman and forced her to perform a sex act in her West Village apartment this weekend.
