What We Know About The ISIS Leader The U.S. Just Killed
Senior
defense officials have confirmed that Abd al-Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli, a
senior ISIS leader also known as Abu Ala al-Afri, was killed on
Thursday in a pre-dawn raid by U.S. special forces in Syria. The
now-deceased Al Qaduli, who is said to be ISIS's #2 leader behind Abu
Bakr al-Baghdadi.
"We are systematically eliminating [ISIS]'s cabinet,"said U.S. Defense
Secretary Ashton Carter at a Friday news conference. "Striking
leadership is necessary," Carter added, "but as you know it's far from
sufficient. As you know leaders can be replaced. These leaders have been
around for a long time - they are senior and experienced and
eliminating them is an important objective and result. They will be
replaced and we will continue to go after their leadership."

Senator Ted Cruz Responds To National Enquirer "Garbage"
Texas
Senator Ted Cruz is coming out swinging against a recently published
National Enquirer story that claims the GOP hopeful has engaged in
extra-marital affairs with at least five women. Since the story's
publication, it has become a trending topic on Twitter.
WATCH: Cruz comes out swinging against accusations by the National Enquirer
"Let me be clear, this National Enquirer story is garbage," Cruz said at
a press conference on Friday. "It is complete and utter lies. It is a
tabloid smear."
Cruz also blame for the story at the feet of Donald Trump, calling the
story "a smear that has come from Donald Trump and his henchmen."
Senator Cruz also released a statement via Facebook about the story. |
