Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio is most the well known of the
five GOP members tapped for the investigative panel, which has already
become a source of intense political friction between Dems and
Republicans. In late May, GOP lawmakers blocked creation of a
independent bipartisan panel to look at 1/6, arguing it is time to move
past the event and not try to exploit it for political advantage. That
led Democrat Speaker Pelosi to push for a House committee to do its own
examination.
